Lazarus Chan is a new media artist currently based in Hong Kong. Chan specializes in various mediums, such as soundscapes, electronic installations, algorithmic art, data visualization, and generative art. He graduated from the City University of Hong Kong School of Creative Media in 2019. In 2021, he was selected as an outstanding student by the Targeted Taught Postgraduate Programmes Fellowships Scheme, enabling him to pursue a Master of Arts at the Academy of Visual Arts at Hong Kong Baptist University, graduating in 2022. Since 2021, multiple art institutions and galleries invited him for arttalks, commissions and exhibitions, including Hong Kong Palace Museum, ArtMuseum of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute, Hong Kong Art Museum, Carriageworks,Hong Kong Art Center, Hong Kong Art Development Council, Hong Kong ArtFestival, Hong Kong Trade Development Council - DesignInspire, Hong Kong WestKowloon Cultural District, Tai Kwun - Centre for Heritage and Arts, SeoulChung-Ang University, Videotage, 10 Chancery Lane Gallery, DE SARTHE Hong Kong,INSTINC Art Gallery, etc. His work is shown internationally, includingAustralia, China, Japan, Korea, the Netherlands, Singapore, Taiwan (ROC), andthe United Kingdom. Chan has received recognition in various honours, includingbeing a finalist for the 20th Arte Laguna Prize (VIRTUAL AND DIGITAL ART),shortlisted for the Hong Kong Pavilion at the 61st Venice Biennale & HongKong Art Month Exhibition 2026, longlisted for the Aesthetica Art Prize,finalist for the ifva Awards(27th & 28th) and WMA Photography Award. Chanhas also been covered and interviewed by media outlets, including Talter,Prestige, Marie Claire Hong Kong Edition, City Magazine, RTHK, etc. In 2025, hewas invited by the Consulate General of France in Hong Kong & Macau toparticipate in the AI Action Summit at the Grand Palais in France as an artist,further deepening his exploration of the intersection of art and artificialintelligence.
